Identity-affirming care is central to our approach everyday

Identity-affirming care is a patient-centered approach that validates, respects, and celebrates an individual's authentic self, including their gender identity, sexuality, race, culture, and neurodivergence, without judgment. It is crucial for mental health, reducing the need for individuals to hide their identity. Key components involve using correct names/pronouns, providing tailored medical or psychological support and always recognising the impact of social stigma and oppression on wellbeing and mental health.
