Trudy established The Whole Story in September 1997.   Her work in private practice in mental health builds on many years of working in community organisations around neighbourhood houses, community legal centres, disability, education, homelessness, State Government departments around community development and community advocacy as well as for members of the Australian Parliament.

She taught units at Swinburne University of Technology around mental health including mental health assessment and treatment, trauma-informed care, crisis response and advocacy from February 2016 until November 2017 and coordinated placements for students as well as designing and developing course material. 

Trudy regularly runs workshops and presents training around all aspects of mental health but particularly around neurodivergence, trauma and other specialist services that she provides.   

Her qualifications are :

Bachelor of Social Science

Associate Diploma Community Development

Diploma of Counselling

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

Master of Social Work

Graduate Certificate in Mental Health Practice

She is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and provides bulk billed services through Medicare for patients with a mental health plan from their doctor.

Lauren (Loz) joined The Whole Story in December 2025. Her previous roles in working in supporting neurodivergent young people and her studies in Bachelor of Childhood Education and experience in neurodivergent spaces and support are some of the many qualities that drew Loz to join us.

Loz facilitates our kids and teens neurodivergent mental health groups that run fortnightly during each school term. Check our Services & Support page for more details.
